The motion filed by defeated APGA candidate in Abia 2015 election, Mr Alex Otti, for abridgment of time for Governor Ikpeazu’s response has been adjourned indefinitely by the Supreme Court today.
According to a report from the Special Adviser to Governor Ikpeazu on Legal & Judiciary matters, Barr Emeka Eze, the Supreme Court announced that members have gone on Easter break and will communicate a new date after resumption from break.
Legal observers maintain that Otti’s opportunistic approach to the Supreme Court after he was defeated by Governor Ikpeazu at same court in 2016 has no life of its own as it is largely dependent on the outcome of the Ogah versus Ikpeazu suit which judgment is expected on the 12th of May 2017.
Meanwhile Governor Ikpeazu is currently on an investment mission to China, with 11 other state Governors, organized by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum. While in China, Governor Ikpeazu is expected to seek the support of Chinese equipment manufacturers to help fast track the evolution of made in Aba brands as well discuss investment in the Abia State industrial park project.
