The National/State Houses of Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Apo, Abuja, has dismissed the petition of Sen Olaka Nwogu of PDP challenging the victory of the Senator Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District Senator Magnus Ngei Abe in the December 10th Senatorial Rerun election in Rivers State
The tribunal in its verdict said that Magnus Abe was rightly elected by the electorate in Rivers South-East in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
“Based on the evidence presented before us, the election was conducted in substantial compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act. We therefore have no reason whatsoever to cancel the election. The petition fails and is hereby dismissed accordingly”
