Sacked Lawmaker Representing Rivers East Senatorial District Senator Thompson Sekibo has vowed to Challenge the Tribunal Ruling Which Declared Chief Andrew Uchendu as the duely Elected Senator Representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the December 10 Rerun Election in Rivers State.
The Tribunal had in its ruling accepted the responsibility of collating the results of the areas so ignored by INEC and arrived at the total score of 126,160 for Uchendu and APC and 84,000 for Sekibo and PDP.
Tribunal nullified the declaration of Sekibo and ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to him
Tribunal declared Uchendu winner of the Election having scored the highest number of lawful votes cast and ordered INEC to immediately issue him the certificate of returns.
Reacting to the Judgement,Senator George Sekibo said he will Appeal the Judgement of the Tribunal
“Even though we found the Tribunal judgment wanting we still believe in the Judiciary. I am aware that Rivers people and indeed the people of the Rivers East Senatorial District who came out to vote overwhelmingly for PDP are not happy with the judgment but you should be aware that it is a battle and the head of the commander is always demand for the sacrifice.” We will fight on and with God on our side and we shall overcome. God is the truth and the truth cannot be defeated by shades of darkness. We are going to appeal and I believe that the Appeal Court will see the truth better and vindicate us
