Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and 2011 Delta State gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has appealed to the leadership of the PDP to give its members a sense of belonging.
Onuesoke, who made the appeal at the headquarters of Onuesoke Foundation, Warri, Delta State where he received Ughelli North PDP chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming local government election in the state, Chief (Hon) Igbedi Macpherson, and his campaign team, stated that by giving every member of the party a sense of belonging would ensure equity and fairness.
“The party should give everybody a sense of belonging. We all contributed to the electoral success of the party in time past. Nobody, group, community in the PDP should be deprived of the dividends of democracy. The principle of rotation/zoning should be strictly adhered to by the party. This will encourage everyone to participate and work for the success of the Party in due course”, he stated.
Onuesoke observed that by allowing every member to participate in the administrative process as stipulated in the zoning principle, the problem of division within the party will not only abate, but there will be stability and growth of the party.
Speaking earlier, Macpherson maintained that he had come to notify Onuesoke of his ambition.
The chairmanship hopeful said Onuesoke is a household name in the PDP, not only in Delta but across the country, saying he had therefore come to seek his blessings and support.
Present at the consultation meeting were Alhaji Sani Suleiman, 2019 PDP governorship hopeful in Kaduna State, Malam Yaro Mohammed, 2019 governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, and host of other PDP leaders.
