Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress(APC) has written a protest letter to the acting President Prof Yemi Osibanjo asking him to decline the Invitation by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
PUO REPORTS learnt that Governor Nyesom Wike has extended an Invitation to the acting President Prof Yemi Osibanjo to come and commission the Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozozo Road,Rumuokrusi Interchange Road Rukpoku Juntion to Aluu,Rumuokoro Market and Park and Ogbumnabali Internal Road.
But In a Protest Letter signed by Mr Chris Finebone State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Rivers State to the Acting President, the Party said “Wike cannot always resort to using APC leaders to ridicule APC members in Rivers State”.
“The feedback we are getting from our numerous members in Rivers State is that Gov. Nyesom Wike has invited the Ag. President to commission some low profile projects just to score cheap political points”.
Rivers APC said the party’s worry was that the said Projects which the Governor is Inviting the acting President does not worth the attention of Prof Osibanjo
“Of concern to us is the fact that those projects are manifestly demeaning for a President to travel more than a thousand kilometres to commission”.
“We are of the strong opinion that the VP reject or decline the invitation”
The Party said Governor Nyesom Wike is still ridiculing the Leadership of the APC in Rivers the ther time when the acting President called Governor Wike Mr Project
“The reference to the governor as ‘Mr. Project’ jokingly made by the Ag. President the last time he was in the State is still being used by Gov. Wike to taunt, ridicule and insult APC and its members in Rivers State to this day. We cannot encourage him with further materials to continue his anti-APC propaganda against us in addition to several of our members being gruesomely killed and beheaded in ONELGA and other LGAs in Rivers State by killer gangs Wike activated for the 2015 elections”.Rivers APC said
