First Civilian Governor of Old Abia State, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, who was governor from 1992 to 1993, made his first official visit to the state 24 years after he left office today.
Speaking at the Government House Umuahia, Dr Onu, who is the current Minister for Science and Technology said that his visit to Abia state is historic, as it is first official visit to the state since his left office.
“My visit to Abia today is historic. This is my first official visit to Abia since I left as Governor 24 years ago”
He thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for making his visit possible.
He spoke at the flag-off of the National Waste to Wealth Programme in Umuahia the Abia State capital.
Former Governors of Anambra State Dr Chris Ngige and Mr. Peter Obi were among dignitaries at the occasion.
