Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Prof Mammoud Yakubu today inaugurated 9 More Newly Appointed Resident Electoral Commissioners at the INEC Office in Abuja.
Performing the Inauguration on Wednesday in Abuja,the INEC Boss said the 9 more RECs sworn-in today , brings the total to 23 so far..
Out of the 9 Commissioners, 5 have been reappointed for a second and final term while the remaining 4 are new appointments.

“As you are already aware, the Commission has fixed the date for the next General Elections.The Presidential & Nat. Ass. elections will hold on 16/02/19 while Gov, State Ass. & Area Council elections in the FCT will hold on 02/03/19
“It means that from today, we have exactly 548 days to the General Elections.
We shall continue to uphold the sanctity of citizens’ choice as the only basis for determining elective representation in Nigeria
