Calm has returned to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital where one person has been confirmed killed during the inauguration of the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Joseph Fafi.

Hoodlums believed to be loyal to the immediate past chairman of the party, Tiwei Orunimigha allegedly stormed the inauguration venue, shooting sporadically to disperse the crowd.
The immediate past chairman of the party was expelled for alleged anti-party activities alongside his vice-chairman and secretary on July 25, 2017.
The supporters had trooped out in solidarity with the new leadership of the party which they said would bring an end to the infighting in the state chapter of the APC.
