Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member Representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe today bagged a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Mass Communication(Broadcasting) from the Abia State University Uturu at the 25th Convocation Ceremony of the University held today August 19th 2017.
Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe a Graduate of Mass Communication from the Abia State University Uturu began his Journey to the list of Phd Holders in 2011 before his appointment as the Abia State Government Chief Of Staff by Former Governor Theodore Orji.
Speaking to PUO REPORTS at the Abia State University Uturu,the brand New Phd Holder in Mass Communication(Broadcasting) said the journey to the Completion of his Phd Studies in December 2016 was not a smooth one,but he accomplished it by the grace of God.
PUO REPORTS gathered that our of 18 Post Graduate Students who enrolled on Phd Studies,2 Died without Completing their Study,while 14 others Dropped on the Way,leaving the Abia State Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe and one other from Ohafia Local Government at the Completion Stage.

Let me say something to Ph.D Class 2011, Mass Communication Department ABSU…
Dear colleagues.
“Today, as I looked at the mirror after adorning this academic gown, I can only say with great sense of fulfillment that my God and Abia State University, Uturu superbly provided a veritable platform for me and indeed all the graduands to wash ourselves of our academic sins. If you are wearing this gown today, it’s a clear demonstration that you survived the very challenging and rigorous academic exercises for which this noble University is reputed for. It’s an amazing testament that though there may have been shortcomings, though there may have been hiccups, we were able to surmount all of them with relative ease”.
“My excitement takes another level when I realize that what we have been issued as certificates are more than meal tickets. With every sense of humility, I recollect that having passed through Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy here, we do more than learn. We shine with enviable example. We excel in all facets of human development”.
“Over the years, ABSU has metamorphosed from a degree awarding institution to a degree rewarding one. We are glad we passed through this road. We are glad we had the privilege of being schooled in line with best practices. Everyday, the innovations strike the critical parts of our faculties, inspire even to judge well and get usefully adapted to our environments. We are glad that twists and turns in the economy did not in any way downgrade ABSU’s knack for spiritedness. It feels good to realize that even the most insignificant shred of poor commitment on the part of students has long been decimated”.
“On our own, we walk with our heads tall, determined to make this great institution proud. Though our books will not leave us, we are sure to continue making marks through the various skills we acquired while our days in the University lasted. We will continue to feel indebted to ABSU for institutionalizing hard work and excellence. In no time, our contributions to the society will speak for us”.
“Let me thank the management of this great institution led by the significantly brilliant Prof Uchenna Eleazer Ikonne for raising the bar of excellence. Perhaps, it s correct to say, his coming would not have been at a better time than now. I am thrilled that through his hard work and conscientiousness, the dreams of the founding fathers of this great University are coming true. I feel greatly indebted to my brilliant teachers Prof. UZOMA Chukwuemeka Okugo and Prof Walter Ihejrika, who diligently supervised all my projects in the University. Thank you for the drills, tasks and challenges”.
“I urge the management and all members of staff to remain committed to excellent performance. Naturally, the government would be inspired to do more. Already, the undiluted love Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D has for education has found meaning in the overall geometric progress made by institutions of learning across Abia State”.
Through the mercy of God, it is my prayer that the efforts of our teachers, those who contributed even in the minutest ways and indeed the graduates shall never be in vain.
