Britain’s Queen Elizabeth on Saturday attended the annual Braemar Gathering in Scotland.
The queen was accompanied by her husband, Timothy Laurence, as well as Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
The Highland Games are a display of traditional aspects of Scottish culture, including dancing, bagpipes with a history that date back hundreds of years.
The royals watched traditional competitions such as tossing the caber, while crowds watched from the stands.
The British royal is the patron of the event, which is held close to the Queen’s summer home on the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire where she usually spends the months of August and September.
