Popular music artiste, Olamide Adedeji, aka Olamide Baddo, says that he may have been lucky to actualise his dream despite dropping out of school, but he would advise younger ones to stay in school and get proper education.
Olamide had told a group of students last week how he dropped out of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, when his parents could no longer sponsor his education.
However, some people were of the opinion that Olamide’s story could actually have a negative effect on the students because he eventually became successful without going to school.
Olamide corrected the notion. In a chat with Sunday Scoop, he said, “I was lucky to achieve my dreams despite dropping out of school. I left the university because my parents were not able to pay my tuition fees; as such, leaving school wasn’t of my own making. If there was money, I definitely would have remained in school. You don’t have to drop out of school to fulfill your dreams. However, if due to one reason or the other, you are unable to complete your education, you should also know that you can still succeed regardless.”
