In furtherance of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration’s agenda to promote Made-in-Aba brands at the global stage, some major Aba designers will be showcasing their products at a fashion show holding in New York City this week.
The event tagged Made-in-Aba Fashion Show is part of the programs for the 2017 convention of the Abia State National Association of North America (ASNA-NA).
The Made In Aba Fashion Show, which will be launched in New York City on October 6th, 2017, will have the Deputy Govenror, Sir Udo Oko Chukwu, representing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
It will be recalled that Govenror Ikpeazu, during the 2015 election campaigns, promised to promote Aba Products at the economic capitals of the world.
According to him: “The axiom, “get Aba right, and Abia is right”, shall continue to be the pivotal development philosophy and the nexus upon which to hinge development policy for Aba.
“Aba is home to virtually all Abians, Ndigbo and has a strong attachment to many others. Re-developing Aba into a modern commercial hub; with functional infrastructure, stable power supply, reliable and decent public transportation system, urban traffic management system, structured and planned industrial layouts, clusters and parks, will release Aba’s revenue potential that can be leveraged upon to develop the rest of Abia State.
“Aba with its strong entrepreneurial setting, attracting business operators from across the nation and most ECOWAS countries, has the potential to become a commercial and entrepreneurship hub of West Africa.
“We shall enhance international marketing opportunities for made in Aba goods and services by ensuring quality control and showcase the made in Aba brand in the economic capitals of the world.”
It is on this premise that the highpoint of events of this year’s convention of the Abia State National Association of North America will be the launch of made in Aba brands in America, at the Hilton Hotel, JFK international airport in New York City.
The mission of Proudly Aba Made is to showcase Made in Aba brands and the creative designers behind the soon to be world-class fashion brands and accessories.
The objective of the Abia state government is to solidify the Made in Aba brands as household names among fashion enthusiasts globally as well as attract the requisite kind of investment to grow the industry.
From intricate beadwork to handmade leather goods and exquisite clothe lines, New York Made In Aba Fashion Show will feature the amazing works of our people on and off the runway.
Among the Aba designers whose designs will be showcased at the event are: ADIC Designs, Chumar, Fadamasi Concept, Kaluski Concept, Norax Pebbles, Shoe Planet, TOSKyme Fashion House, and Tropical Fits by Eze.
