The federal lawmaker representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Isah Misau is to be re-arraigned on December 12, 2017.
Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court Abuja adjourned hearing to the new date after an irregularity was pointed out by Senator Misau’s counsel, Joshua Musa.
Mr Musa told the judge that that the ten counts amended charge was defective, because there was no seal on it, in line with order 10 rules 1,2,3 of the Federal High Court.
He also argued that if the irregularity is allowed, it will be dangerous for the defendant to take his plea.
The prosecution counsel Mr Saleh Hadi then had to apply for a date to enable him affix the seal on the amended charge.
Senator Misau was initially arraigned by the Federal Government on seven counts of falsification and forgery of discharge documents from the police.
However, three more counts have been added, which necessitated the amendment of the initial charge.
