Ambode drops three commissioners

LAGOS State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday dropped three commissioners and appointed five new ones in a surprise reshuffle of his executive council (EXCO).

 

Some commissioners were also moved in the exercise announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello.

 

Those dropped are Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola, Mr. Femi Odubiyi and Mr. Abiola Anifowoshe.

United States-based Information Technology expert Hakeem Fahm was tipped for the Science and Technology ministry. Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye is returning to the cabinet having served former Governor Babatunde Fashola as Education Commissioner in his second term. She is pencilled down for Commerce and Industry.

Others are Mr. Ladi Lawanson – Transportation, Mr Segun Banjo – Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Hakeem Sulaiman – Communities and Communications.

Those moved are Rotimi Ogunleye (Commerce and Industry) to Physical Planning and Urban Development; Steve Ayorinde (Information and Strategy) to Tourism, Arts and Culture, Kehinde Bamigbetan (Communities and Communication) to Information and Strategy; Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti (Wealth Creation) to the Environment; Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf (Youth and Social Development) to Wealth Creation; Agboola Dabiri, Central Business District (CBD) to Youth and Social Development.

Dr samuel Adejare (Environment) to Waterfront Infrastructure Development; Ade Akinsanya (Waterfront Infrastructure Development) to Works and Infrastructure.

The statement added that Special Advisers Benjamin Olabinjo moved from Commerce and Industry to Civic Engagement; Kehinde Joseph, Civic Engagement to Housing; Deji Tinubu, Sports to Commerce and Industry and Anofiu Elegushi, Transport to CBD.

According to Bello, the exercise is expected to create a new vigour and vitality for service delivery which is the hallmark of the Ambode administration.
