Abia State House of Assembly has Suspended Hon Justice Theresa Uzoamaka Uzokwe,the Chief Judge of Abia State.
The Suspension of the Chief Judge of Abia State was carried out by the House of Assembly at its Emergency sitting this Morning at the Assembly Complex Umuahia
PUO REPORTS that the Suspension followed a unanimous Resolution by the Members of the Abia State House of Assembly on Friday.
It was gathered that a Civil Society Group GLOBAL CENTRE FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE had in a Petition to the Assembly through the office of the Speaker accused the now Suspended Abia State Chief Judge of Misconduct,Abuse of Fellow Judges,High hardness among others.
The Petition was Signed by Dr Acb Agbazuere for and On behalf of the Civil Society Group.
The House of Assembly resolved to Suspend the Chief Judge of Abia State pending the outcome of the Investigation of the accusations against her.
The House in the Meantime has adjourned Plenary to Monday 29th January 2018.
