Rev Asuquo John has been Elected the New District Superintendent of UYO District at the 8th Triennial Council Meeting of the District .
The 8th Triennial Council Meeting of the District held at the District Headquarters 32 Akiam Itiam Road Uyo and was Chaired by the General Superintendent of Assemblies Of God Nigeria Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor assisted by Rev Bawa Gadima an Executive Member.
Explaining while the Change in the Chairman of the Council,the GS Said the exclusion of ORON District Council from the list of Councils for 2018 Prompted the little Change.
“It is the Prerogative of the General Superintendent to fix Dates for Council meetings and present to the Executive Committee for Possible Approval
“By the time we prepared the JUNE 2017 Report,ORON District was not in the List,when we realized that,it was agreed that I move from Calabar to Uyo while the Assistant General Superintendent Moves from AHOADA to ORON” he explained.
Speaking from the books of Ist Corinthians 9:24-27,Galatians 5:7 and 2nd Timothy 4:7the General Superintendent of Assemblies Of God Nigeria Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor said the heart of God is beaten because many people has abadone what brought the people together .
“When You began the Ministry you were getting along so well,but who disrupted you?”
“When a Man looses Ministry,he Circles around Leaders to see of Leaders can Impose him on a Church”
“In a Typical track event,they are people called Judges,their decision are made at the end of the event,there are those called Observers and the Watch from Afar,they do not make meaningful Contribution to the event”
Illustrating from a Race,Rev Okoroafor said some persons may finish the Race,but be disqualified because they ran outside the Rules.
“One day Trinity shall interpret the Camera and there shall be no hidden place”
“Nobody ever receives the reward for starting well,you only receives reward as a Good Finisher” He Said
The General Superintendent said God shall bring great Revival in UYO DISTRICT.
Rev Asuquo John Polled a Total of 205 Votes out a Total of 315 Eligible Voters to emerge the Uyo District Superintendent.
