The Youth Wing of the Social Political group in Igbo Land (Ohanaeze Ndigbo) has asked the Federal Government to tame the Rampaging Fulani Herdsmen or the Youths will return Fire For Fire.
According to a Statement Jointly signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Okwu Nnabuike and Engr Obinna Adibe for Ohanaeze Youth Wing and made Available to PUO REPORTS on Tuesday, the group said the recent attack by Fulani Herdsmen in Ebonyi state is unacceptable.
“It is a case of observable war on Igbo’s humanity that the Ohanaeze Youth Wing,
at its national emergency security meeting, called yesterday after the Fulani
herdsmen wrecked havoc in Enyanwu Igwe village in Igbeagu community, Izzi
local government area of Ebonyi State, killing four persons and making
destruction of properties”
Recall that herdsmen had invaded many igbo communities/states and they are
treated with kidsglove by the Federal government and recently invaded Enyanwu
Igwe village on Monday, killing four persons and destroyed economic trees and
other properties worth millions of naira and as well sent communities packing. We
duly denounce this dastard acts that receives Federal government’s protective
coverage allowing the Fulani herdsmen moving lengths and breaths of Nigerians
with firearms killing peoples at any slightest.
According to the Group “We cannot toil to feed ourselves before a rich but self-turned chronic beggar and
debtor nation seemed to have forgotten its duties to citizens only to have Fulani
herdsmen invade our farmlands grazing on our crops and to turn killing us for
raising voice against their archaic cow rearing methods that is blind to others’
economic good”.
“We regret to say that Federal government had adopted double standard in the
handling of the Fulani herdsmen terrorism and Igbo’s non-violent youths agitating
for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra, while allowing the Fulanis to
kill peoples opposed to having cows passing and grazing on their farmlands and
kill communities protesting against such. Yet, for the Federal government turning
around treating the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB that has not fired a shot nor
slapped anybody, as a terrorist group is too bad for the President Muhammadu
Buhari and whatever he has to offer.
We, hereby issue a stern warning to the Federal government to curtail the nefarious activities of the fundamentalist Fulani herdsmen and disarm them than giving them protective coverage while they destroy lives and farmlands or we engage them fire for fire in all parts of Igboland. We hereby use this medium to ban open cow
grazing and rearing activities and any seen doing should be made to understood
that where his economic rights stop, there begins that of another.
“In view of the foregoing, we, Ohanaeze Youths cannot stand akimbo watch our
farmlands and communities destroyed anymore because of barbaric cows rearing
activities of the Fulanis in the nature’s 21st century”.
“Hence we hereby tell Igbo youths to form rings to guide and protect their
communities and farmlands and deal decisively with anybody destroying their
farmlands through cow grazing and or bearing arms that is not a known licensed
security person to save selves before a nation that can no longer defend the Igbo’s
and citizens’ humanity”
“By so doing, we warns that nobody has a monopoly of violence and Igbo nation
will surely defend itself before any war make on their humanity and economic
interests. Enough is enough; we tell whoever listens or cares!
