The Assemblies Of God Divinity School of Nigeria Old Umuahia Abia State today graduated a Total Number of 1,054 Minister’s who had completed their Diploma,Degree and Masters Programme at the Institution in 2016 and 2017 Academic Sessions.
The First level are 179 who are graduating from the Lay Ministry Training Programme,557 from the Two/three year Diploma Programme,220 from the two/three year in House degree Programme,70 from the Four Year Affiliated Programme with the University of Uyo and ultimately 28 from Maiden Masters Programme in Bible,Christian Education,and Missions/Communication.
The Ceremony which held at the AGDSN campus old Umuahia had in attendance Prof Paul Ajah as the Guest Speaker.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies Of God Nigeria Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor In his Keynote Address at the 63rd Convocation acknowledged the courage and commitment of the AGDSN astute for the good work they are doing in maintaining the Theological armory,shaping the Theological perspective/worldview of Assemblies Of God Nigeria Pastors,introducing ministerial praxis and upholding our Theological Pentecostal Heritage.
In his Address the President of the Assemblies Of God Divinity School of Nigeria Rev Professor Okpara Inworogu said “What we are witnessing today is a historical development from the foundation class of on 1940.
“We have continued to witness a growing number of men and women responding to the call of God”
“A major development is the internship programme for every Diploma graduate. This came on stream in November 2016 and is in its Second Year.this is an on-the Job Internship programme where the fresh Diploma graduate has opportunity for practical ministerial experience under an Established Minister”.He Said.
Presenting the 63rd Convocation of AGDSN Prof Paul Ojukwu Ajah the President of Pentecostal Theological Seminary Eleme who had been a long time Lecturer of the Institution congratulated the Board of Governor’s of AGDSN for the good thing they are doing .
“I want to say that I am proud to be associated in this very school,I graduated here and my journey as a Minister started here,in our Days it was a very rare thing to see a Secondary school leaver answer the call but I thank God that Prof Okpara Inworogu who had straight A’s in WAEC answered the call to be here”
Speaking from the Book of Mark 16:15,17 and 18 on the Topic “GO IN HIS NAME” Prof Ajah said the name of Jesus is the Special equipment for work.
He urged the Graduands to go with the Name of Jesus Christ as they go into the World from Assemblies Of God Divinity School of Theology.
Awarding the Certificates to the Graduands,President of AGDSN Rev Prof Okpara Inworogu said they had been found worthy in Character and in Learning.
“By the authority Vested on me as the President of the Assemblies Of God Divinity School of Nigeria Old Umuahia ,I award you all Present and those who are avoidably absent from whom your HOD has stood Proxy, Certificates in Diploma,Degree and Masters in Theology”
Dignitaries who witnessed the 63rd Convocation of AGDSN included some Representatives from the University Uyo,Rev Johnson Odii(Retired)Rev J C Ndukwe the Umuahia North District Superintendent,Rev C Akwari of Okigwe District,Rev C B Hezekiah of Okigwe South Rev Patrick Nwosu of Ngwa District,Rev C I.Ekwueme of Owerri District,Rev Stone O Stone the ADS of Umuahia among others.
Special Feature of the Convocation Ceremony was the recognition of Students who Distinguished themselves Academically during the Study at the Institution
