Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has charged Christians to rekindle their trust and believe in God, adding that trust in God is the only way in times of trouble.
Speaking to the congregation at the Seventh-day Adventist Abakaliki District, Governor Ikpeazu, accompanied by his Ebonyi State counterpart, Engr. David Umahi, said that progress in life can only happen when God is involved.
“I want us as a church to know that all we need is God if we must make any progress and achievement in life. Therefore I want to urge us to rekindle our love and faith in God, because God is our only hope in time of needs.
“Don’t let anyone stop you from receiving from God the blessing He has proclaimed for you.”
In his remarks, Governor Umahi, urged Christians to pray for their leaders, asking God to be with them and give them wisdom to govern.
“I thank my brother and friend, Governor Ikpeazu for inviting me to worship with you today in the Seventh-day Adventist Church here in our state. As Christians we should not stop from praying for our leaders. Instead of abusing them, pray God to bless them.”
The President of the Church in Eastern Nigerian Union Conference, Pastor B.E.O Udoh, was among dignitaries at the service.
Others include the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Rachael Umahi, wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Nnenna Igwe, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
