The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Youths has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into Law the Not Too Young to Run Bill which gives hope to the Youths.
In a Statement signed by its President General Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and made Available to PUO REPORTS on Saturday,the body also ask the President to pick a Sputh East Youth as Running Mate in 2019
” WE THANK PRESIDENT BUHARI FOR SIGNING INTO LAW THE NOT TOO YOUNG TOO RUN BILL ,WHICH HAS OPENED A NEW HOPE IN OUR DEMOCRATIC LIFE AND WILL DEEPEN DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA”
The body wondered while President Buhari begged the Youths not to run against him in 2019
“WE OBSERVED PRESIDENT BUHARI BEGGING THE YOUTHS NOT TO RUN AGAINST HIM IN 2019, DOES IT MEAN THAT MR PRESIDENT KNOWS THAT ANY YOUTH RUNNING IN 2019 WILL WIN? DOES THE GOVERNORS, SENATORS KNOWS THIS FACT? ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTHEAST WHERE IPOB/MASSOB COLLAPSED THE SYSTEM ON BIAFRA DAY CELEBRATION.
“IGBO YOUTHS WILL MEET AND DECIDE ON THE NOT TOO YOUNG BILL TO RUN BILLIN THE FORTHCOMING IGBO YOUTH TOWN HALL MEETING ORGANIZE BY OHANAEZE NDIGBO YOUTHS BY AUGUST 2018, IT IS EXPECTED THAT MANY IGBO YOUTHS WILL RUN FOR GOVERNORS AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN 2019. AND ANY GOVERNOR ABOVE 60 SHOULD BE LOSING SLEEP OVER 2019 ELECTION.
” PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOULD STRENGTHENED DEMOCRACY BY EITHER RUNNING AGAINST A YOUTH FROM SOUTH EAST OR ACCEPT A YOUTH FROM SOUTHEAST AS HIS RUNNING MATE IN 2019,AND HAND HIM OVER IN 2023.
NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN BILL HAVE GIVEN HOPE FOR AN IGBO PRESIDENT IN 2019 OR 2023.
” NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN BILL Will Give POLITICAL PARTIES OPPORTUNITIES TO FIELD YOUNG CREDIBLE CANDIDATES WITH FRESH AND VIBRANT IDEAS IN 2019,AND OUR GOVERNORS SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT IT HAVING WITNESSED IPOB/MASSOB STRENGTH IN THE SOUTHEAST IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, OHANAEZE NDIGBO YOUTHS WILL LIAISE WITH THESE AGITATORS TO DECIDE WHO OCCUPY OUR GOVERNMENT HOUSES,SENATE SEATS AND HOUSE OF REP IN 2019, ITS A SURE BET AND NO LOBBYING CAN CHANGE IT” the statement said.
