The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a meeting with the party’s aspirants that contested for the Osun State governorship primary election which was held last Saturday.
The meeting comes barely 48 hours after the primary election was held in the state.
The winner of the primary, Senator Ademola Adeleke polled a total of 1,569 votes to beat his closest contender, Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi who had 1,562 votes.
Mr. Ogunbiyi rejecting the result said the outcome of the election is a subject of concern to a majority of the party members.
According to him, the members are disappointed, disillusioned and confused by the conduct of the exercise and the results declared.
Also during the election, seven candidates pulled out of the primary election, stating that their decision was to strengthen the bond of the party.
To this effect, the PDP leadership has raised concerns over the issues witnessed at the election.
The spokesman of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan said that the meeting will address all the issues and concerns from the conduct of the primary ahead of the governorship election slated to hold in September.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Council of the PDP will also be holding another meeting later in the day to discuss the best strategy to adopt towards the 2019 general elections.
