The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Adesoji Akanbi, on Tuesday, refuted report that he had defected from APC to PDP.
Akanbi was listed among the 15 Senators who defected from APC to PDP and his name was among the names read during the plenary session Tuesday by Senate President Bukola Saraki, The lawmaker said the inclusion of his name among the defectors was in error.
He said he had no plan to leave the party under which platform he stood for election and got elected as a Senator in 2015.
He said, “I’m a loyal party member and will continue to be a card carrying member of the party in Oyo state, so there is no basis for me to leave the party at all.”
By this latest development, the total number of senators who dumped APC on Tuesday is now 14.
