Chelsea have made a move to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to reports in France.
Before the World Cup, it looked certain that Fekir would join Liverpool, in fact, he even recorded an interview with LFCTV and he had pictures taken where he was wearing the Liverpool shirt.
However, the deal collapsed, with reports that Liverpool were unhappy with an issue they discovered during the player’s medical.
However, Lyon have made it well known that although they’d be happy to keep their captain, they would be willing to sell him for a fee of around €60m.
It appears that Chelsea have been alerted by this news and have decided to make a fresh approach after they unsuccessfully tried to sign him earlier in the summer.
Reports have suggested that Liverpool have no interest in a deal for Fekir so Chelsea could have a free run at him. However, the fact that the Blues aren’t playing Champions League football this season could be a stumbling block as Fekir is keen to play in that tournament.
