Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, and his Kano State Counterpart, Abdullahi Ganduje, have assured of partnership to promote Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development in both states.
The Governors Stated this when the Kano State Governor,Abdullahi Ganduji paid a courtesy visit on Governor Ikpeazu at government house, Umuahia.
Governor Ikpeazu said Abia would leverage on cotton and the ternaries in Kano to improve the leather, shoes and bags industry in Abia, noting that every state needs each other to survive.
According to him, “for me, every part of Nigeria needs each other and this is the kind of synergy we need to build”, adding that he would open talks with the Bank of Industry to see how best to source the materials.
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje said he was in the state on a day working visit.
He said the visit would further consolidate national integration that Nigerians yearn for and called on Nigerians to understand their differences and accept each other as the only way to build a united Nigeria.
Also speaking, the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi Lamido, who was on the entourage of the Governor said he has longed for the visit for a while.
He emphasized on the need for Nigerians to accept each other’s differences, and thanked Abia state government for her efforts at building a better Abia.
