National Association of Nigerian Students conferred National Life Membership on Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu. The event took place at the executive chambers of Government House, Umuahia, when the NANS President Comrade Bamidele Danielson led a powerful delegation of National Executives of NANS to the Government House on a Courtesy call.
The students rolled out Dr.Ikpeazu’s achievements in education sector which includes, building of 340 new classroom buildings across the State, 4 new model schools, training and retraining of teachers in Abia State, donation of vehicles to schools and student leaders in all tertiary institution in Abia, building of SUG secretariats in higher institutions etc. They Students also eulogized the Governor for always making himself available for interaction with students.
The Students thanked Dr. Ikpeazu for appointing a student leader Mr Ndom Chibuzor as his Senior Special Assistant on Student affairs.
Ikpeazu thanked the Students for choosing him for the award. The Governor said thet he sees the award as a recognition of his efforts to reposition Abia State and must continue to dedicate himself to service.
He said that if we are serious about Youths being leaders of tomorrow, leaders today should be able to give Youths platforms to bring up ideas, that is why he has always carried the students along in every of his programmes.
