Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has sworn in Chief Kingsley Imaga as Commissioner for Transport in the state.
Chief Imaga who is from Ohafia local government area of Abia State replaces Rt Hon Chinedu Elechi who resigned to contest for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony at the executive council chambers of Government house Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu called on the new Commisioner for Transport to focus on innovation and technology to deliver a better Transport system to the people of the state as well as develop modern parks in the urban centers of the state.
He used the occasion to announce the launch of a new Taxi scheme for Umuahia capital city which is expected to take off with 100 vehicles equipped with a home designed computer application that will enable commuters book taxis from the comfort of their homes.
