Atiku Abubakar once served as Vice President to Olusegun Obasanjo for eight solid years, 1999-2007.One good thing Obasanjo cannot take away from Atiku is his ability to manage the affairs of the country satisfactorily with or without instruction from him as President.
Obasanjo feels very comfortable traveling outside the country without any fear knowing fully well that there will no complaints anywhere. Atiku’s discretion is quite great. He is a seasoned politician and administrator. Atiku does not discriminate in any form.
I remembered vividly when he was serving as Vice President, I applied for audience with him and it was granted. I met him in his house then in State House. He is really a gentleman to the core. He told me that Obasanjo is such a person that would not want to be thanked for doing his responsibilities. He is indeed very caring.
He promptly approved a water project initiated by Atiku in Osun State. And when Atiku thanked him, he said in a way, he was doing his duty. I clearly understood that Atiku really loves Obasanjo and vice versa. I equally discovered that Atiku Abubakar is full of initiatives.
I won’t conclude without appreciating the fact that Atiku is a true Democrat. I remembered discussing an idea with him and he promptly linked me with one of his Aides to look at the idea.
My conclusion is that Atiku will certainly make a better President. He is more qualified than Buhari to rule this nation. At a time when our unity is in danger, we need a liberal person to take over the affairs of this country and that person is no other that Atiku Abubakar. He is the man to beat.
