The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Abia has expressed happiness with the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District in Abia, Sen. Theodore Ahamefule Orji over his bill that has been passed into law making Abia Polytechnic, Aba a Federal Polytechnic. The state chairman of NLC in Abia, Comrade Uchenna Obigwe disclosed this in Umuahia, stating “
Labour wishes to appreciate our own indefatigable former governor of Abia State, Sen. T. A. Orji, Ochendo Worldwide in his effort to achieve the Federal Government takeover of Abia Polytechnic, Aba as a Federal Polytechnic.
“This will definitely reduce the burden of the state and give room for the state to have a new vision; a new Abia Polytechnic that will be nurtured by the state without much weight on the finances of the state”. Comrade Obigwe, while applauded the former governor for what he called “the great feat”, adding “more grease to your elbows”.
The Abia Labour further used the opportunity to felicitate with the senator on his 68th birthday he recently clocked, adding “we wish him more fruitful years ahead”. “We wish him his re-election come 2019 for his second term as a senator because, one good tenure deserves another”, he added
