Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has felicitated with Nigeria’s Former President and leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, as he celebrates his 61st birthday.
Governor Ikpeazu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, described the former president as an icon of democracy, a selfless Nigerian, an astute and articulated democrat.
According to him “Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s role in deepening Nigeria’s democracy is massive. He made personal sacrifices for Nigeria’s unity and democratic stability. He remains the only Nigerian leader whose personal political ambition did not affect his love and commitment to the good of the people he led. He is a true icon of democracy, an inspiration and encouragement to not just Nigerians but other politicians across the world. His kind is rare and should be emulated. A quintessential leader. A man who treated everyone with respect even as the President of the largest Black nation on earth who led her to become Africa’s biggest economy, a true patriot and a humble man.”
Governor Ikpeazu prayed God to uphold and sustain him to keep serving Nigeria and grant him long life to contribute more to the development of the nation and Africa’s biggest democracy.
