President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday pointed out that the country’s economy was in a bad shape.
Buhari, according to the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Abdulaziz Yari, made the remark while meeting with the governors of the 36 states of the federation at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, Yari said the President told them to tighten their belts.
“The President responded by thanking and telling us that the economy is in bad shape and that we have to come together and thinking and rethinking on way forward,” he said.
Yari also stated that the governors commended Buhari for releasing the Paris club funds to them without any discrimination.
