The entire people of Amaekpu Ohafia yesterday Endorsed the second term aspiration of the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Dr. Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa.
The ceremony which started at the palace of HRH. Eze Onwuka Uchendu, the Paramount Ruler of Amaekpu Ohafia saw the entire Eze in council of the community performed their Traditional prayers ( Itunmayi) for Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
Speaking further, the council through the Traditional prime minister, eulogized Senator Mao for all his good works in Ohafia and Abia North in general and pledged the Support of the council and the community at large towards the victory of Mao Ohuabunwa.
Speaking to the entire people of Amaekpu Ohafia at the village square, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa thanked the people of Amaekpu Ohafia for their continuous support for PDP led Administration in the state, himself and especially the support they have been giving their illustrious son whom he is well pleased with, Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu.
Senator Mao Ohuabunwa used the Medium to tell the people some of the things he has been able to do in Ohafia Kingdom which include, a modern borehole at Elu Ohafia, rural electrification Project to boost power supply at Amaegbu Ohafia, construction of a modern public convenience center at Ebem motor pack, construction of class room blocks at Okon-Aku Ohafia, ongoing Construction of Arochukwu- Ohafia road, medical outreach at Abia, Ohafia, Donation of modern health Ambulance to Ohafia LGA etc. Empowerment and employment of many sons and daughters of Ohafia in just within 2 years and 8 months at the Senate.
He asked the people to have hope and faith in PDP because PDP is the only party that can give them dividends of Democracy.
Also speaking, an ilustrious son of Amaekpu Ohafia and former member of the house of Representatives, Hon. Chief Kalu Igu Uduma (D.K) assured the Senator of the Support of the people of Amaekpu Ohafia, Chief Uduma described Senator Mao Ohuabunwa as not only a friend of Amaekpu but a great son of Amaekpu Ohafia who has done a lot for the people and promised to work hard for his re-election and that of all the PDP candidates.
Highlights of the event was donation of cash to Amaekpu football club that won the just concluded Senator Mao Ohuabunwa’s football competition, and cultural dance that was performed by the women and men of Amaekpu Ohafia.
The event witnessed the presence of Hon. Kalu Emega, Capt. Awa Udensi, Chief J. J. Okoro, Barr. Ukpai Ukairo, Chief Iche Kalu Iche, Engr. John Eke, Hon. Ikechukwu Iroha and other notable Dignitaries.
