Civil society organizations say the decision by president Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a new acting chief justice of Nigeria a day to the inauguration of the election petition tribunal is an attempt to rig the 2019 elections
The CSOs made the call during a protest to the US embassy in abuja. The protesters also said the decision by the president is unlawful.
Members of the civil society also called on lawyers to down tools with immediate effect saying the decision by president muhammadu buhari to appointment an acting CJN is an assault to the judiciary.
They promised to continue the protest until the international community intervenes
