The Abia Group for Peace and Unity(AGPU) has warned a Former Governor of Abia State and Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress for Abia North Senatorial District Dr Orji Uzor Kalu over his threat to attack the Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu.
The Group in a Statement made available to PUO REPORTS on Friday and signed By Dr Acb Agbazuerre,Comrade Bonnie Iwuoha,Barr Agbairo Ogbuabia and Hon Ugochukwu Emezue said it is also appalling that Orji Uzor Kalu on Thursday January 31st 2019 in the company of thugs and others on Military Uniform invaded Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area and destroyed several Billboards belonging to other Political Parties including that of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
THE Statement Reads in Parts;
”The attention of the Abia Group for Peace and Unity has been drawn to the mischievous and debilitating plot by Mr Orji Uzor Kalu to threaten the peace in Abia State. In a Publication in the Sun Newspaper of Friday 1st February 2019 which is owned by the same Orji Uzor Kalu at page 40,he stated among other things that if the Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu tries to take their mandate by Force that the Deputy Governor by Force,apparently referring to taking his Life when he stated ”If You Try to take our mandate by Force,you will go by Force”. In the same Publication Mr Orji Uzor Kalu also referring to Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu,Deputy Governor of Abia State stated”If He tries that nonsense,we will bundle him out of Nkporo”.
”Again in a Publication in Igberre TV also owned by Orji Uzor Kalu,he equally threatened to ambush the Deputy Governor,Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu at Igbere when ever he passes through Igberre.
”Our Group is therefore alarmed at this Careless and unguided outburst by Orji Uzor Kalu,who is even being prosecuted by the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commission(EFCC) at the Federal High Court for looting Abia State Treasury to the tune of over N7Billion”
”Our Group expresses deep concern that such negative steps by Orji Uzor Kalu and his agents are likely to destroy the un-quantifiable peace which Abia State has enjoyed in the last 4Years”.
”Consequently,we call on the Presidency,Inspector General of Police and other Security agencies,to call Orji Uzor Kalu to Order,immediately,to avoid any breakdown of Law and Order in Abia State.
