Abia State University Promotes 18 As Professors

The Governing Council of Abia State University during its 140th regular meeting held on Friday, April 11, 2019 approved the promotion of 18 professors and 10 Readers .

According to the press statement made available to newsmen, The new Professors are Dr. Ogbonna Onuoha,University Public Orator & Member of the University Governing Council, Of the Department of Lingustic & Igbo; Dr. Sam Agu of the Department of Philosophy; Dr. E.N Ota of the Department of History; and Rev. Dr. S.O. Eze of the Department of Industrial Chemistry.

Others are Dr. Azubuike Amakwe Nwankwo, Department of Physiology; Dr. F.O Uhegbu , Department of Biochemistry; Dr. U.M Nwosu, Department of Public Health; Dr John Kanayo Okeke, Department of Foreign Language ; Dr. (Mrs) Ijeoma Iheukwumere, Department of Microbiology; and Dr. Anthony Uzodinma Egbu, Department of Urban & Regional Planning.

Also elevated are Dr. Uzoma Nwokocha and Dr. G.I.N Emezue, both of the Department of English and Literature; Dr. A.C Akpanta and Dr. David C. Chikezie of the Department of Statistics;Dr. (Mrs) R.N.O. Ogbonna and Dr. B.E Afinmagbom, Department of Education Administration and Planning ; Dr.(Mrs) C.I Nwahunaya and Dr. Bright Chigbu of the Departments of Measurement Evaluation and O&G respectively.

Those elevated to the position of Reader include Dr. G.C Alozie of the Department of Architecture ; Dr. J.C Chukwu of the Department of History and Dr. E.O Oti of the Department of Sociology; Dr. M.U. Eze of the Department of Estate Management; Dr. J.C Igwe, Physical Chemistry; Dr. Flora O. Nkire,Educational Foundation; Dr. L.K. Nwokocha of the Department of Education Administration and Planning ;Dr. N. Elekwa of Surgery, Dr. Chris O. Timothy of Optometry ; and Dr. Ndukwe Godwin of the Department of Human Physiology.
