Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has charged traditional rulers to ensure that peace reigns in their communities to pave the way for development.
The Governor gave the charge yesterday at the kingship celebration of the District Head of Mbatsen, Chief Daniel Nder Kuhwa, which took place at his residence, Mbamondo in Konshisha local government area.
The Governor who was represented by his Special Adviser on Education, Mr. Matthew Mnyam, thanked the people of Mbatsen for the overwhelming support they gave him at the polls and promised not to betray the trust reposed in him.
He also appreciated the people for the show of love for Tyoor Mbatsen, Chief Kuhwa and asked the traditional ruler to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring that peace reigns in his community.
Governor Ortom also charged other traditional rulers to always speak the truth at all times and be neutral in dispute resolution.
Ter Ikyor, Chief Thomas Jam Gbinde urged the celebrant to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his reign, even as he called for the support and cooperation of his people.
Earlier, Chief Nder Kuhwa thanked all those who had come to celebrate with him and had contributed in making the event a success.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Terver Akase, Chairman/CEO A.T & S. Nig., Mr. Julius Atorough, Director Benue State Arts Council, Mr. Terna Nomsule, among others.
