Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has Congratulated the management, staff and students of the School of Midwifery. ABSUTH, Aba, for maintaining excellent pass rate for two consecutive years in examinations organized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
Speaking with newsmen in his office, the State Commissioner For Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, applauded the institution for maintaining 100% pass rate for the last two consecutive years.
According to him, “The performance of the students of School of Midwifery, Aba, in national examinations for the last two years has justified the efforts of Governor Ikpeazu who rescued the hitherto comatose institution when he came on board in 2015. This institution was on the verge of total collapse but the Governor worked hard with the management team to bring it back to life and today they are number one in Nigeria. We congratulate the students and the management for this inspiring feat that further confirms the premier position of our state as the number one education state in Nigeria.”
Continuing, he said, “As a responsible government, we are committed to supporting excellence in academic performance of our students and, in this case, we will ensure that those of them wishing to work will have jobs. Within the first 100 days of the second term of Governor Ikpeazu’s administration, we will ensure the full functionalization of each of the 3 units of 100-bed new model General Hospitals at Okikpe, Ikwuano and Arochukwu. This is in addition to the two already functionalized during the first term of Governor Ikpeazu, so as to provide better and affordable healthcare to Abians as well as create jobs for our excellent graduates like those from our school of midwifery.”
