Senator representing Yobe North, Ahmed Lawan, senate has won the senate president seat of the 9th National Assembly.
In an open ballot system Ahmed Lawan who scored 79 votes to defeat his closest rival Mohammed Ali Ndume with 28 votes.
Clerk of the House of Senate announce that Ahmed Lawan having scored the highest votes is here by declared winner of Senate President.
