Eze’s Unending Diatribes Against Senator Abe Will Fail

The great English Writer, William Shakespeare in one of his plays ‘Macbeth’ while underscoring the theme of desperation and vaulting ambition said those who the devil wants to destroy ‘they’ first make mad. This line aptly describes the extent that misguided elements like one Chief Chukwuemeka Eze can go in a failed bid to run down those whose achievements he may never attain in his lifetime and whose hard-earned reputation he seeks to demonize.

We are not surprised that Chief Eze in his usual verbosity has again dished out another false ranting and garbage in the public space against Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe barely a fortnight after he spewed a similar tale devoid of substance.

How sad that a character like Eze who claims to be a ‘critical voice in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South’ flunked in knowing that Senator Abe had no intention of returning to the Senate. His eyes were on the Rivers State Government House (at the time) and nothing less. That was the goal he set for himself and that also explains why he has a groundswell of supporters across the State more than any other political leader in APC in the state till date.

That Abe connived with certain forces to deny the APC the opportunity of fielding candidates in the 2019 general elections is a bogus allegation that he is yet to prove in his repeated piece of debris and tissues of lies. By every stretch of the imagination, Eze is taking his luck too far in order to remain relevant and pick the crumbs falling off his masters’ table.

How pitiable! How can a man who claims to be a chieftain of an exalted party like ours and a critical voice in the South-South zone allow himself to be used by some of those that should be calling him ‘uncle’ or something dignifying at least to remind him of his age; rather than prostrating before them and tied to their apron strings just because of ‘stomach infrastructure’.

Congratulating distinguish Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for his emergence as Deputy Senate President and describing the victory of the ‘influential senator’ as ‘well-deserved’ in one breadth and in another breadth ‘regretting’ that such an exalted position would have been occupied by a someone from Rivers State, Preferably, Senator Abe, had he returned to Parliament is a contradiction in terms! Why praise and regret at the same time?

The tendency that a certain office may only be suitable for a particular section of the country is as parochial as it is defeatist. What should matter most is merit. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in every material particular is qualified and suited for the office. His emergence is therefore deserving and a plus for the party and people of the South-South; because without any modicum of doubt he will represent the zone well.

That the recent election of candidates of the ruling party as leaders of the red and green chambers of the National Assembly is a big win for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is true. It is more than that. It is a victory for democracy because the federal legislators neither wobbled nor minced words in electing the principal officers of the legislature. The implication is that the 9th assembly will work harmoniously and rancor-free, collaborate with the executive to deliver democratic dividends to the millions of Nigerians that voted for President Buhari.

Be that as it may, it is unfortunate that Chief Eze, a supposed chieftain of the APC commended the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) ‘senators and members of the House of Representatives for exhibiting maturity and unity by cooperating with their counterparts in APC in ensuring that credible and capable leaders were saddled with the responsibility of presiding over the two legislative chambers, this time that President Muhammadu Buhari needs the support of the National Assembly to turn the fortunes of this country around. How come Eze failed to accuse Senator Abe for influencing the PDP lawmakers in the national assembly to elect the principal officers, but did accuse him of frustrating the APC in the State in order for Governor Nyesom Wike to have his way in Rivers State?

Between Chief Eze who we will like to reiterate is in desperate search for social accommodation and economic relevance and distinguish Senator Abe, who has held several elective offices and political appointments at the state and national levels, who is in a wilderness?

If Eze and his co-travelers are looking for anyone/someone to render him an apology, he/they should know where to look. To do otherwise is to see pictures of fantasy and delusion. Senator Abe at the time has his goals and aspirations and pursued same with the huge support base and did not truncate anyone else’s political ambition. As a political stakeholder that knows what he is doing, it is important to keep your eyes on the ball rather than following blindly. Well, like the avalanche of tirades before this, we await the next epistle from this known character of deceit and unfortunate promoter of lies, because no matter the salvos, he and his paymasters will continue to fail.
