More agents of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) during the 2019 Governorship Election have maintained that the election was peaceful, free and fair.
During a cross examination by Dolapo Tella Attoni, counsel to the petitioner and the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Nwaobilor Jonas Morgan, collation agent of PDP at Ward 3 Etche LGA, admitted that the election was peaceful.
Nwaobilor added that results were collated and announced by INEC officials at the ward collation centre and the EC-8B signed by INEC and copies were given to him. He said he later handed over to his PDP LGA collation agent.
Ikem Adiele, PDP collation agent for Etche ward 6, said there was no cancellation of election in his ward. He noted that the governorship election in the area was peaceful, free, fair and devoid of violence.
Also testifying, Chioma Ogwugwueli, PDP collation agent for Emohua ward 3, told the Tribunal that he was accredited by his party as ward collation agent to the area. He said that the results were duly collated and signed copies handed to agents of political parties.
Meanwhile, Justice Orjiako has adjourned till Friday for continuation of cross examination of PDP witnesses.
So far, 18 witnesses have testified in favour of the PDP and Governor Wike at the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal. They declared that Governor Wike won the election, which they said was peaceful, free and fair.
