Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel has said he has not resign as the speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly that he is still the speaker of the house.
He made the statement on Monday evening when he heard that some person went back to the chamber after he has adjourn the house.
He further said “I want Bayelsans to note that the Bayelsa state House of Assembly is an independent arm of government and there is a speaker elected.
If I have not done anything wrong, I don’t see any reason why I should be asked to resign.
If I have offended or fallen short of the law its a different thing. I did not resign. I am not resigning .
l presided over the House and I have adjourned the House.
Bayelsans should discountenance anything anybody is going to do thereafter. Its an illegality.”
