Border Clashes: Abia Governor Assures Isu Community of Adequate Medical Support

Speaking during the Flag off of a 2 day medical outreach organized for the Community at Ohabuike Primary school, Obieze Osu, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State, the Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr. Joe Osuji said that the the Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu directed him to as a matter of urgency carry out a 2 day medical outreach following the news of border clashes between Isu Community in Abia State and their neighboring community in Cross Rivers state.

Dr Osuji further disclosed the Governor’s sadness over the ugly incident particularly since he came to the knowledge that some of the members of the Isu community have become refugees. He assured them that efforts are being made to bring to an end the border clashes and ensure that the refugees return to their ancestral home.

The Health Boss said his team comprises of selected medical doctors, pharmacists, and Nurses from the state Ministry of Health who are ready to give all the medical attention required.

In their separate speeches, the Traditional Rulers of the affected communities HRH Eze Mortimor Kalu Ogbonna and HRH Micheal Udo Kalu thanked the Governor for his quick response to their call for medical help while assuring that they will give the medical team the needed support for the assignment.

Adding their voices, the village heads Elder Nwachimeme Kalu, Apostle Nwachukwu Obasi and Mrs Joy Ogonnaya expressed happiness that the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu remembered them in this critical time.
