The Honorable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, HE Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio on Monday 25th, 2019 during a meeting in his office with the Leadership of CITIZENS QUEST FOR TRUTH INITIATIVE, led by her President, Chief Mrs Oby Ndukwe and accompanied by the Secretary, Comr. Inyie Okpukpo, vowed to address the issue of the East-West Road.
The President of the NGO took time to brief the Minister on the efforts of her NGO. She informed the Minister of N100billion meant for the completion of the East-West road sections 2-4, domiciled in the PIDF. The briefing was accompanied by a well drafted report with pictures and videos to give backing to the written document.
HE Senator Akpabio was not only surprised but happy with the amount of information brought to him by the NGO. He immediately instructed his Permanent Secretary to write a memoranda on the East-West road which he’ll present IMMEDIATELY at the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
The Honorable Minister in his response thanked the NGO through her President on the good job they are doing. Akpabio said the information from Citizens Quest will aid him in achieving part of this mandate as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. He also vowed to work with the group to see to the actualization of the East-West road. He promised to bring the same passion and vigor he used in transforming Akwa-Ibom State to the completion of the East-West road.
Finally, he seized the opportunity to call for the support of the people of the region to enable him succeed on his mandate.
