In continuation of her stakeholders engagement process, the ebullient APC candidate for isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections, Hon Chief (Lady) Blessing Uwaoma Nwokenneya, (Odi Uko Na mba) held a get together meeting with the ward Chairmen, Local Government, Zonal and State executives of the party from her constituency at her country home, in Ntighauzo, isiala Ngwa south local government area of Abia state on the 31st of December 2019
In her remarks, she reminded the executives that they were the first line managers of the party in their various wards and as such cannot slumber at this time as they must show capacity in building and strengthening the party from the grassroot (wards).
“They have a responsibility to show leadership to our teeming party members in the wards as we move ahead of the 2023 elections” she noted
In her words ” we cannot allow our party to lie as a sheep without a Shepherd. My only concern now that electioneering are over is for us to come together to rebuild this party and make it stronger as the party of choice.
According to her, Irrespective of whatever results INEC declared for the party in the last election, the fact remains that “we won the hearts and minds of the good people of Isiala Ngwa and for this we must remain strong and proud. Elections are now over and it is time for all of us to shun the blame game, shun our individual interest and come together in building one strong APC”
She stressed on the need for party loyalty as the kind of betrayals experienced in the last election cannot help to move the party forward.
“I implore you to see the past election as an experience we can leverage on in moving the party forward to achieve our goal of redeeming our dear state from the hands of misgovernance” she said. As we cannot aid those ruining our state to continue. NEVER!!
Also speaking her husband Ezeji Ephraim Nwokenneya, one of Leaders of the party in the State, admonished the party fatefuls to come together at this point, forgeting all that has happened in the past so that APC can form a viable opposition that can reclaim this federal constituency and state in the next election.
In his words ” let all of us, go back home, mobilize our people in making our party stronger and more formidable. Our prospects are too high if we are sincerely ready to build the party. APC is indeed the party to beat in Isiala Ngwa come 2023. You must zero your minds from the experience of the election as all we need now is for all of us to move the party forward.
Unity is strength.
Responding, Ezinna Martins Ezinwa the APC party chairman for isiala ngwa south thanked lady Uwaoma and her husband for this meeting and promised them that though there were mistakes which cost the party the general elections in the local and state, that they will come together now and start the process of building the party as a lot of the party fatefuls have lost hope.
Also speaking, the Isiala Ngwa North LGA Party chairman, Mr.Endy Ogalabu informed the Candidate that he is encouraged at this call for party building as that is the only way the party can withstand the wave and surmount its challenges. Further more he said that the process of building the party has started today and that this fire will continue.
Also the Zonal publicity secretary of the party Oba Darlington said that having shown capacity and leadership by this meeting, that the ball is now on their court to start the process of massive mobilization for the party at all levels. He further reminded the party executives that the work to be done are enormous and that all hands must be on deck at this time.
