The Candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded 2019 House of Representatives Elections, Lady Blessing Uwaoma Nwokenneya (odi uko n’mba) has charged ward and LGA executives, including all party stakeholders in the 20 political wards of Isiala Ngwa federal constituency to show capacity and take steps to build and strengthen the party at this most critical time .
Speaking at a strategic engagement session with the party executives and key stakeholders at her country home in Ntighauzo, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, the founder of Ndi Uwaoma Foundation, aka Nwanyi Uwaoma reminded them that they are the real owners of the party as they are at the grassroot and they more often interact with the people and as such must endeavour to do all within their capacity to grow and sustain the party at their various wards.
In her words” This party belongs to you at the grassroot. Every leader must consult with his ward exco’s and work hard to position our party as a veritable platform to lift Ndi Abia out of political slavery. So the ward and LGA executives must show leadership and take up their roles as the leaders at the grassroots and ensure that our great party, APC clinch Abia State government house, Umuahia come 2023.
We cannot over emphasis your critical position is growing and building our party and positioning it for the work ahead. You are the owners of the party and must take ownership of your party. Make sure you schedule regular meetings with all our members in your wards, the process of correcting the mistakes made during the last elections must start immediately. Stand up and spread news of the Next level Agenda of the Federal Government, to the electorates, so that before the next congress and elections, the Party must be stronger and ready for the challenge ahead. Any ward chairman that needs money for logistics for their meetings should call on us. Our lines are on. You can count on our support, she said.
Also speaking, Ezeji Ephraim Nwokenneya informed the exco’s that the time to build the party is now and not few years or months to the general election that is why, the rebuilding process must start now, and like Odi uko n’mba said, we will render every support to help you grow and strenghten the party. All of us know that the electorates voted for Onye uwaoma during the last election but the victory was truncated by the leading party in the state due to our mistakes. But the election has come and gone, let’s move the party forward.
In response, one the ward chairman, Mr chinonso thanked lady Blessing Nwokenneya for the courage in convening the meeting and promised her that the executives will do all within their powers to build and sustain the party at the ward level.
Also speaking, the chairman of ward 4, isiala ngwa south LGA, Mr Jude Enweremadu, thanked lady Blessing Nwokenneya for the encourage and sacrifice she is rendering and promised her that though lot of mistakes were made in the last election, the executives will sit up from now and assume their critical roles.
In conclusion, the ward chairman of nbawsi umuomainta ward 10 in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Chief Chima Nwambuko also thanked both the convener and the exco’s and reminded all that there is a role for every member of the party as every one both big and small is important and should be charged up for the task ahead.
