Sokoto state governor, Aminu waziri Tambuwal has emerged the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum.
Tambuwal is to replace Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson whose tenure will elapse on February 3.
There was no election. The PDP governors unanimously resolved and appointed Tambuwal as their chairman.
Tambuwal emerged the chair at the 88th NEC meeting of the opposition party currently holding the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata plaza, Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, Tambuwal pledged to run an inclusive administration and to move the party forward.
His predecessor, Dickson was however, conspicuously absent at the NEC meeting.
