The Senate of the National Open University of Nigeria moments ago postponed indefinitely the 9th convocation ceremony scheduled to hold this Friday and Saturday 20-21 March 2019.
Presiding, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma represented the VC Abdalla Uba Adamu at the meeting told the Regional Media Officer North-Central, Ambrose Bernard Gowong that postponement was in line with global best practices of preventive measure against corona virus, a pandemic that has held the world by the jugular.
Udama was quoted as saying “Emergency prevention as against emergency management” informed the decision of the university’s Senate to call off the convocation.
Before now, all arrangement had been concluded by the university management who were expected to graduate over twenty four thousand graduants at an elaborate ceremony scheduled for this Saturday.
