The lockdown grace (6am Friday – 2pm Sunday, April 12, 2020) granted by Abia State Government to Abians and residents alike ended today at 2pm,Secretary to Abia State Government,Barr.Chris Ezem has informed in a statement.
“Consequently, the 7-day lockdown extension which took effect on Wednesday 8th day of April, 2020 before the lockdown grace continues from 2pm Sunday, 12th April to end on Friday, 17th April, 2020.”
According to him,”Government plans to commence fumigation of our public areas including, churches, schools, offices, markets, public buildings etc. in Abia State between Monday and Tuesday respectively.”
“Accordingly, the general public are hereby warned to stay at home because of the health hazards associated with this exercise and in continued compliance to the lockdown.
“Security operatives and various Enforcement Teams are by this notice directed to ensure full compliance.
