Following the partial easing of COVID-19 lockdown and the ban on non-essential interstate movement the country, Nigerians have expressed serious concerns after videos making rounds on social media allegedly show dozens of Fulanis moving towards the south.

There are lots of wild, or should we say hilarious speculations on Twitter, including a rumoured Fulani invasion and a Boko Haram deployment of foot soldiers to start an attack in southern Nigeria.

Regardless, the first video below shows a group of northerners who were reportedly offloaded from a truck (with no registration number) in Edo State.

In the video, you can hear the cameraman saying it’s a daily occurrence and that he has reported to the authorities.

You can also see some persons walking across a road, not socially distant by the way, and moving onto the other side of the road – not clear where they’re headed.

I hope this video is not true, however it is, the south should be vigilant for a likely unfolding agenda……🔥🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/BsEXoMcA0y— Olushola Olufolabi (@olushola_shola) May 14, 2020

The second video below shows a similar case in Enugu State but the cameraman claims the Fulanis confessed they came in from Niger Republic, adding that many of them escaped into the communities after a truck offloaded them.

He also appealed to the government to do something about it. See the video below:

The Fulanis are planning an invasion

Here is another video of the Fulanis sneaking in.

However, FIRST REPORTS thumbed through the comment sections – which largely showed panicky comments – and found this exchange.

A user noted: “This is exactly what Trump too is saying about us. These guys may be coming from Niger Rep to come and ride Okada in Lagos or anywhere there is work. Nigeria is their abroad. Same way Yankee and UK is our abroad and we are complaining about them.”

To which another responded: “Don’t compare moving overseas with this northern concealed migration. Over the years, they have proven to be foes its a matter of time before they start claiming territory. The agenda to claim the Atlantic front is still on.

But another user countered the above claims: “Concealed migration? They have been doing this for decades. Who is riding Okada all over Lagos. Na dem. There are ways to stop this without causing civil war. If not for corona na so dem for land in PH or Lag and be shining shoes or whatever. These re diff from criminal herdsmen.”

In the conversation, meanwhile, another user shared a video said to have been recorded in Rivers State and it appeared to show a group of people in a meeting; and you can hear a man with a northern accent warning residents to be alert. He appears to be a spy, saying he would collect his weapon to show as proof to them that all might no be well.
