On Monday A Federal High Court (FHC) in Benin has fixed July 6 to determine the appropriate mode of Edo primary election adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC had adopted direct mode for the primary elections.

The exercise held today and Presiding LGA officials have announced results.

At today’s proceedings, counsel to the plaintiffs recalled that the Court of Appeal, on June 18, ordered that the Federal High Court hear the applications on the main suit.

The plaintiffs are APC members, Kenneth Asekomhe and Matthew Iduoyirikemwen.

But counsel to the 2nd defendant told the court that he had appealed the decision of the Court of Appeal which struck out his argument on jurisdiction.

Justice Garba Umar, in his ruling, adjourned till Monday, July 6 for hearing of applications and the main suit.
