Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has been declared winner of Edo PDP primary election after the all the aspirants, Engr. Gideon Ikhine, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and Mr. Kenneth Imasuagbon, who officially stepped down and declared their support for him at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
He was declared winner by the Returning Officer for the PDP Governorship Primaries in Edo State and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed after scoring 1,952 votes to emerge the Governorship Candidate with 95 percent of the vote cast.
There were a total of 2,234 delegates approved for the primaries but only 2,202 were accredited. The actual delegates that voted were 2,024 with 72 votes declared invalid
Governor Godwin Obaseki will be the party flag-bearer for the forthcoming Edo guber poll by September 19.
